Jay Anderson is our Owner, Operator, and Sales Manager. He founded Dock & Door Tec in 2006 and has grown the company every year since its inception. Starting in the industry as an Apprentice Service Technician in 1993, he advanced to an Account Representative and then Operations Manager prior to founding Dock & Door Tec. This diverse background and wide range of experiences has helped build a company designed to service the client. He enjoys meeting new people and helping them solve their facility problems, a passion he has passed down to his entire team. As an IDEA Accredited Technician and Dealer he maintains a higher standard than most and works to exceed that whenever possible. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, CrossFit (for both fitness and competition), playing dodgeball, obstacle course racing, and biking.
Donna Peterson is our Office Manager. She manages everything from HR to payables and everything in between. She came to us with 20 years of bookkeeping experience which has lent itself well in her role here. Her experience as a quilt shop owner gives her a wide view of business operations, efficiencies and customer service. Her favorite part of being with us is helping other business fill a need they have. In her free-time she has many hobbies including quilting, embroidery, and working with her husband on their small hobby farm.
Al West is our Service Manager. His knowledge, leadership and client first mentality led to his promotion to Service Manager. Previously he worked in metal fabrication and has brought that ingenuity and problem solving to his career with us. He is a persistent learner and likes working with our clients and learning about different equipment, a spirit he is passing on to our team of service technicians. He holds certifications from CHI and Dynaco as an authorized service technician. When not at work, you can find him spending time with his wife and two kids and their three dogs.
Brett Korinek came to us after a career managing the residential garage door division for a national contractor. This transferred well to the commercial industry as he was accustomed to working with deadlines and multiple decision makers. He covers the north west metro and northern MN area. His clients will say that his love for helping them problem solve makes him an excellent partner. While not a work, he spends time with his family at their cabin.
Don Frein brings over 40 years of experience in the material handling industry and warehouse industry. He has done everything from service technician for warehouse equipment to sales of material handling equipment. Many of our clients in south east MN and south west WI are familiar with Don from his career prior to us. He holds 5 sales achievement awards from the Unicarrier Material Handling company. His passion for helping clients solve their problems really shines through. In his free time he works in his shop and hangs out with his grand kids. He also owns a small campground in Waterville, MN and spends many weekends there.
John Swanson came to us after a previous career as a sales representative and planner for a major event company in the Twin Cities. He has the problem solving skills and hustle that is needed in our demanding industry. Finding solutions and meeting our diverse clientele are what he enjoys most about our industry. He has attended factory training on Nordock levelers and truck restraints. His territory includes the south west metro and southwestern MN. He spends his free time with his two young sons and two dogs – anything outside will do. He is an avid outdoors man and really likes kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, soccer and hiking.
Rick Hopkins has done it all here at Dock & Door Tec. He has served as service manager, scheduler, office manager, purchaser, and finally his permanent role as an Account Manager for the north metro, north eastern MN, and north western WI. As a retired US Navy recruiter he brings the discipline, problem solving, and attention to detail needed to succeed in providing out of the box solutions for his clients. When not at work, you will find him hunting or fishing with his son and daughter.
Samantha (Sam) Bird joined us with 18 years prior experience in customer service, inside sales, and marketing for a local lawn and garden distributor. Her favorite part of the industry is learning about the various equipment, it’s application plus learning about our client’s industries and obstacles. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, yard work, and discovering new restaurants. She has recently reignited her childhood passion for fishing with her young son, nephew, and boyfriend.
Derrick Heltemes joined us after a career as an auto mechanic. He possess the mechanical aptitude and skills needed to solve issues in the field. He enjoys traveling to our clients throughout our territory. He has attended Dynaco’s technical training school and holds a certificate from them. As avid NASCAR fan he spends his free time at car shows.
Jared Hageman is our most experienced technician with over 25 years in the industry. He has proven to be a leader and mentor to our entire service team. He is true solution provider and takes pride in fixing it right the first time. He hold certifications from the IDEA as a certified commercial rolling steel and commercial rolling steel fire door technician. In his spare time you will find him on his Harley, hunting or fishing.
Joseph (Joe) McGinty rejoined our team after a short break in the automotive industry. He brings previous experience in the commercial door industry and the mechanical skills to his position as a service technician. His mechanical background and attention to detail give him the know-how to perform excellent preventative maintenance on your equipment. In his free time he enjoys hunting and fishing.
Lee Gustafson is an experienced maintenance technician. His previous career with with a local dairy supplier gives him expertise in navigating the regulations and standards that the food and dairy industry demands. In his spare time you will find him on his 4×4, snowmobiling, and riding his street bike.
Lori Bowman is our Service and Administrative Assistant. Her previous experience with bookkeeping and customer service made her the perfect fit. She handles service requests, scheduling, payables, and purchasing. Her favorite part about this industry is the variety, with so many differences in clients, equipment, requests, there is always something to learn. She is fork lift certified and assists with the daily receiving of product. In her free-time she enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family.
Michael (Mike) Neil came to us as a welder looking to learn new skills. His experience as a welder and fabricator are invaluable as a service technician for our industry. His expertise has been helpful in training some of other technicians in those skills. Traveling and meeting new people are two of things he enjoys most about his career. He is certified in fork lift and boom lift. While not a work you will find him four wheeling, hunting, and spending time with his wife and three children.
