Warehouse Assistant

Reports to – Service Manager

​Job Summary
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks, keeping the warehouse/shop area organized and for the cleanliness of the fleet vehicles, yard and shop areas.  Performs other general labor to support the facility.

Essential Functions
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Assistant consist of but are not limited to:

Warehouse

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or loading areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using forklift or other equipment
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs
• Sort materials or objects for processing or transport
• Load/unload shipments, belongings, or materials
• Mark materials or objects for identification
• Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures
• Record operational or production data
• Secure cargo
• Position material handling equipment
• Operate forklift, hoists, lifts or other moving or lifting equipment
• Perform parts or hot-shot deliveries

Facilities Support

• Keep building exterior in clean and orderly condition
• Wash trucks weekly
• Perform routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk
• Yard maintenance and general upkeep

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prefer at least 1 year of work experience
• Experience driving a forklift and/or ability to become forklift certified

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work 8 am – 4:30 pm M-F
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials​
