Brooklyn Park Tater Daze is a unique festival where residents pay homage to the humble potato. Early settlers discovered that potatoes flourished in the flat, sandy soil of the area. Through the Great Depression, drought and urbanization, Brooklyn Park has shown its strength as a community willing to work together and make our city a welcoming place for everyone.

The Osseo Maple Grove Athletic Association (OMGAA) is a volunteer organization that was formed in 1974 to provide excellent baseball and softball opportunities within the Osseo and Maple Grove high school attendance areas.

Since 2008 the Nowthen Heritage Festival volunteer committee has organized the Festival to "Celebrate Community, Family and Friends."
The committee members work throughout the year to organize activities and solicit funding so most of the activities at the Festival can be free or at a low cost for the guests.
