Trailer Stands
While Dock Locks can help prevent trailer creep and potential landing gear collapse, the only true way to prevent this is by using trailer stands. Another concern is trailer upending caused by too much weight in front of the built-in trailer jacks (landing gear). If you have dropped trailers and are using powered equipment to load and unload, you should reduce your risk with trailer stands.
OSHA says: “Fixed jacks may be necessary to support a semi-trailer and prevent upending during the loading or unloading when the trailer is not coupled to a tractor.”
